As the summer heat goes up in Hyderabad, another big problem has started—power cuts. Over the last few days, many people across the city have been complaining about electricity going off for hours, especially at night.
It’s not just one area; people from all corners of Hyderabad are frustrated. Since Wednesday night, many residents have taken to social media to share their anger.
Residents Share Their Struggles
People living in areas like BHEL, Kishanbagh, Golconda, and Moula Ali say the power cuts are making it impossible to sleep or stay indoors during the day.
- In BHEL, residents called the situation “unacceptable” because of the extreme heat.
- In Kishanbagh, power went out at 1:00 AM due to a transformer failure, and people had to wait for hours for it to be fixed.
- In Moula Ali and Vasanth Vihar Colony, the situation is even worse for those working from home. Without power, they can’t use their laptops or Wi-Fi, making it hard to finish their office work.
“Power comes for 20 minutes and goes again”
Many users on X (formerly Twitter) complained that even when the power comes back, it goes off again within minutes. A resident from Diamond Hills (Golconda) said this has been happening for a week now.
Over in Kondapur, people are sharing their service numbers online, begging the electricity department to fix the issues permanently.

The Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company (TGSPDCL) has been active on social media, replying to complaints. They usually say, “We have informed the concerned officer,” but many residents feel that these are just words and the actual problem is not getting solved on the ground.
