A major political row has erupted in Telangana following Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s heated reaction to BJP MP Tejasvi Surya’s comments in the Lok Sabha.
“An insult to Martyrs”
Ponnam Prabhakar reacted strongly to Tejasvi Surya comparing the Telangana-Andhra split to the India-Pakistan partition. He called the MP “mindless” and stated that such comparisons insult the self-respect of Telangana people and the souls of the martyrs who died for the state.
Attack on local BJP MPs:
The Minister didn’t stop there. He attacked the 8 BJP MPs from Telangana, asking why they remained silent while their state was being insulted in Parliament. “Do you have no shame or pride? How can you sit and enjoy such a speech?” he questioned.
Warning to TDP:
Mentioning that a TDP MP also recently made similar remarks, Ponnam issued a stern warning: “Bidda Jagratha” (Watch out, kid). He made it clear that any insult to the state’s formation and struggle will not be tolerated.
